Modern Methods Of Construction - Design, Inspections & Certification
RWA possesses extensive experience delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors, utilising all categories of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). Our expertise is rooted in a thorough understanding of MMC manufacturing and certification processes. We have directly assessed manufacturing facilities in Ireland, Europe, and China to evaluate their capabilities and quality control, and we routinely visit active modular sites to analyse the entire delivery process. We are committed to this hands-on approach to remain at the forefront of industry developments.
New Modular House, Portarlington
A recent client selected a modular home from the BuildWright range. We supported the project from an early stage by carrying out a full engineering review of the proposed design to ensure compliance with Irish building regulations and site-specific requirements. This was followed by a programme of scheduled factory inspections at the Monaghan manufacturing facility, allowing build quality to be verified at key stages. Once delivered and installed on site, RWA then completed the final assessment and certification.
2 Semi-D, 3-Bedroom Houses, Macroom
The insulated superstructure for this development was manufactured off site and delivered by Hi-Therm Homes, enabling a rapid and efficient build programme. Within one week of delivery, the buildings were weather-tight and ready for internal fit-out. Our role included a detailed design review along with regular site inspections during construction, ensuring structural integrity, build quality and compliance were maintained through to project completion.
Modular Units, Design/Inspect China
We successfully supported our client and their partner, a large Chinese state construction company, in developing volumetric modular housing units. Our factory inspections in China culminated in a fully compliant prototype for the Irish market. We provided comprehensive compliance verification—from structure and materials to CE marking and testing—while ensuring robust quality control and workmanship standards were in place. This milestone confirms the project’s readiness for mass production.
